Noord-Holland Yun Hwa Dharma Sah
Ji Kwang Dae Poep Sa Nim
Ji Kwang Dae Poep Sa Nim is the founder and Supreme Matriarch of the Yun Hwa Denomination of World Social Buddhism. Dae Poep Sa Nim is the pioneer of a new “Social Buddhism”, bringing the timeless wisdom of the teachings of the Dharma into the heart of modern society.
For more than 25 years Dae Poep Sa Nim travelled through many European countries, teaching directly Social Buddhism, supporting Her students and encouraging them to found Dharma Sah´s in their country.
In 2002 Dae Poep Sa Nim stopped travelling and is now residing at the Lotus Buddhist Monastery in Big Island of Hawaii. From there, the Supreme Matriarch teaches in many ways. Directly through retreats, which can be attained by Her students. Through writing and sending the Daily Sutra to the students and subscribers every day since 1992, without skipping one single day. Through creating Energy Spiritual Writing Paintings which tremendously benefit all their owners, cooking the most exquisite and healthy food, creating beauty and showing at each moment what true compassion is.
Dae Poep Sa Nim´s life reflects in many aspects the meaning of Social Buddhism. She was born in 1946 in Korea, early in life left Her home to find Her master in the mountains. With 18 Dae Poep Sa Nim was recognized as enlightened by Her master and received the transmission (as the first woman in the history of Korean Buddhism).
Following the advice of Her Master, Dae Poep Sa Nim did not stay in Korea, but moved to the United States in 1968, settling in Hawaii. Dae Poep Sa Nim wanted to live several years of social life experience before starting teaching. So for the next years Dae Poep Sa Nim went to the University, had a family, worked and traveled, practiced privately, and never told anyone She was an enlightened Buddhist master.
In 1975 Dae Poep Sa Nim founded , the Dharma Buddhist Temple of Hawaii in Honolulu, and began teaching.
Dae Poep Sa Nim has been recognized as a Master by the Lotus Sutra School of Korean Buddhism and the Chogye Order of Korean Buddhism. In 1982, Dae Poep Sa Nim was offered the position of the Supreme Spiritual head of the Lotus Sutra School of Korean Buddhism, wich means the title of Supreme Matriarch, and in 1988 was given the title « Dae Poep Sa « , which means Great Dharma Master, in recognition of Dae Poep Sa Nim´s profound enlightenment and ability to teach others.
In 1993, the Lotus Buddhist Monastery was established in the Big Island of Hawaii, in the middle of the Pacific Ocean.
Having attained Buddha’s (the Absolute, the Truth’s) energy, Ji Kwang Dae Poep Sa Nim is a Great Dharma Energy Master able to balance nature’s energy, so that the nature does not cause tragedies. In fact, as an example, since the Supreme Matriarch has been residing on the Big Island, there have been no natural calamities that have affected this island. This is unusual, because historically, the Big Island has been the target of hurricanes and tsunamis and home to dangerous lava eruptions and earthquakes. Local island people are well aware of this.
Teaching a pure Buddhism with direct lineage to Shakyamuni Buddha (Siddhartha Gautama), free of any specific country’s tradition and seeing the whole world as one family, Ji Kwang Dae Poep Sa Nim’s teaching is able to fit into any culture, thus making the creation of German Buddhism, French Buddhism, Spanish Buddhism, etc. possible.
Experiencing directly what war is about and having been personally injured in war, the Supreme Matriarch is working day and night for World Peace. In 2006, a 20 m (65 ft.) tall, solid granite World Peace Kwan Se Um Bo Sal statue has been built at the Lotus Buddhist Monastery, as an indestructible root of Eternal World Peace.
Dae Poep Sa Nim’s paintings cannot be considered as ordinary artistic paintings because in each one is a spiritual writing with very special energy. Each picture is created from her enlightened mind, from the place of absolute clarity and truth, and is for a specific purpose.
Their divine penetration power and beauty is a great benefit for its owner and his/her family, and will be so generation after generation. Indeed, the reason she paints them is for the benefit and help people receive through them. They help people attain the truth, to be healed, to be protected, to have prosperity, to be tranquil, to foster beautiful and correct relationships, etc.
Dae Poep Sa Nim said that having one of these paintings is like having a temple and energy center in one’s home. The energy and blessings which she puts into each painting help to balance one’s mental and physical energy, so one can become clear, and go in a correct and positive direction.
